I have recently rebuilt my computer but I kept my old hard drives and use it as old backup, I would use a hard drive dock connected via USB 3. Recently when not using this hard drive, it has been sitting next to my computer on the table. My carelessness has meant that the hard drive in question has fallen to the floor. My initial investigation shows that the hard drive is not being detected by the computer via the hard drive dock, but the spindles seem to spin but I don’t hear any magnetic head movement. I have noticed that the back of the hard drive, the PCB is slightly dented, I believe the dent may have dislodged a chip or is sending a false signal to the computer the drive is not formatted. I was wondering if you can help me with recovering the data for me. I would especially would like to know how much it could cost as well. The hard drive in question is: * Seagate Barracuda 3Tb drive * Model ST3000DM001 * Was originally purchased in 2013 * Files mostly contain Steam game files, flight simulation downloads but most importantly media archives including video and photographic which is the primary priority for me. I do live in London and can quite happily travel to your shop if necessary.
I own a transcend store jet 25M3 (“military grade shock resistant”). The drive fell off a table onto carpet floor. Now it beeps continuously when plugged into my Mac Book and the light doesn’t turn on. It also isn’t recognized by the computer and I can’t hear the motor. I believe the hardware (motor/read&write) is broken, and need the data to be recovered. I’m currently abroad but live in London. A friend will bring the hard drive to your London facility friday afternoon. Could you quote me the costs?
My laptop died one day and so I sent for a kit so that I could turn its hard drive into an external one and recover my files. This did not work as the disk would not get up to its full spin as something was catching on the inside making a beeping noise, high pitched whirring noise. I have opened the hard drive up so is it still possible to retrieve the data?
I have a WD external hard drive, 1TB. On backing up a few months back, the space required went above 1TB and ultimately crashed my mac at the time. It wasn’t until a few weeks later I realised the HD wouldn’t even mount. Had I.T at work try to recover with no luck so naturally concerned all is lost.
